Tutorial: How Do I Use The Top Words Analysis Tab In Competitive Messaging?
This tutorial is interactive. To move to the next step, please follow the prompts showing you where to click, or use the < and > arrows along the bottom.
15 STEPS
1. This tutorial will teach you how to use the Top Words analysis tool to uncover the most common key words and mentions across communications.
2. This workbook is set up to look at email communications over the past week at set retailers within the UK.
3. You can adjust the Show the numbers as chart controls to Counts or Percentages.
Counts refers to the number of times a word has been used across communications. Percentages shows the percentage of communication updates within your workbook.
4. You can also choose to Show or Hide symbols within your top words. This would include %, and currency signs.
5. Click Show.
6. You can also Group By and Split On the filters you have applied in your workbook.
7. For this example click Retailer to see the top words within each retailer's email communications.
8. You can exclude any words that you do not want in your analysis by using the X button.
9. Exclude the word Shop.
10. Exclude the word App.
11. All excluded words will appear in the Excluded words dropdown.
12. Click women to include it again.
13. Click on any bar to see all communications that sit behind it.
14. Click on the email communication for the full content.
15. Scroll through the email to find where Denim is mentioned, this will be highlighted. You can see in this email that the top word denim is used in a Bermuda shorts edit at Bershka.
