Tutorial: How Do I Add Filters To Competitive Messaging Workbooks?

1. This tutorial will teach you how to add filters to your Messaging workbook.
Adding filters allows you to customize your analysis.
2. For this example, let's analyze email communications that mention Dresses over the past three months.
Your competitors of interest are Zara and Mango and your own business is H&M in the United Kingdom Region.
3. First, click Regions.
4. Type UK.
5. Select United Kingdom (UK)
6. Click Retailers.
7. Type Zara.
8. Select Zara.
9. Once you have selected all your retailers, click Close.
10. Click Genders.
11. Some retailers don't separate emails by gender. All is selected by default, keeping this selected ensures you are capturing all mentions of dresses.
12. Click Close.
13. Click Channels.
14. Select Email.
15. Click Close.
16. Next click Categories.
17. If you are analyzing competitors that sell homeware and beauty, this filter allows you to isolate a specific category.
This example is analyzing dresses so let's select Apparel.
18. Select Apparel.
19. Click Close.
20. Next, click Keywords.
21. Type Dresses.
22. Click Add.
23. Click Close.
24. The Date filter will default to analyze the Past month.
25. Click X to remove it.
26. Click Date.
27. Select Past 3 months.
28. Click Add.
29. Click Close.
30. Click Updates to navigate to the individual email.
31. Click on an email card to see its contents.
32. Where Dresses is mentioned will be highlighted in the email.
