Use the date selection functionality in the top control panel to refine your data and isolate specific timeframes.
- Click on the date selection function in the control panel to select a timeframe.
Once you click the date selection, you can select a timeframe from one of the four following tabs:
- Day
- Week
- Fiscal Month
- Custom Range: Use this option to select specific dates in the trading calendar, such as Black Friday or Ramadan.
You can select a specific day, week, month, or custom range to apply to your analysis.
- Select the Period A tab. Period A will always be the baseline timeframe you select that you can compare other time periods against.
You can use the arrows to navigate to select specific days, weeks, months, and custom ranges in the past. In the example below, the date that has been selected is the week commencing 21 July 2024.
Note Period A will always be represented by the color blue in EDITED Digital & Omni.
EDITED will set up the date selection functionality based on your trading calendar. For example, your trading week may run from Sunday to Saturday, another retailer may run from Friday to Thursday.
How to add selected timeframe comparisons to your analysis
You can add a timeframe comparison to your analysis to track metric movement and quickly identify any positive or negative changes to performance.
- Select Period B to add a comparison timeframe.
You can select your preferred comparison date timeframe, Period B, in the following two ways;
- Applying a custom range by using the arrows and selecting a specific timeframe in the past.
- Applying a pre-set range from the dropdown, see the image below. You can choose from the following options, these may differ based on the Period A timeframe selected.
- Prior Period: previous day, week, month, custom range.
- Last Week: previous week or same day in the previous week.
- Last Quarter: previous quarter or the same day, week, or custom range in the previous quarter.
- Last Year: the same day, week, month, or custom range from the previous year.
Note Period B will always be represented by the color orange in EDITED Digital & Omni.
