Action Impact consists of two analysis tool types: Product Profit Impact and Product Demand Impact.
Action Impact measures the difference in profit or sales based on what would have occurred if an action had not been taken. To do this, EDITED observes actions that have happened, e.g., has the average selling price of an item changed? If this action has occurred, then EDITED will estimate the impact on Profit or Demand (sales).
How to Navigate to Action Impact
- Select Opportunities from the left-hand navigation panel.
- Click Action Impact.
- Click Product Profit Impact or Product Demand Impact.
How to Use Analysis Controls in Action Impact
Action Impact Tabs
Both Product Profit Impact and Product Demand Impact include four tabs.
- Overview: a summarization of the data points.
- Price: Price actions are observed when EDITED identifies that the average selling price has changed by at least 3%.
- Availability: Availability actions are observed when no price change actions have been observed and SKU Availability changes by at least 3%.
- Exposure: Exposure actions are observed when EDITED identifies that the relative percentage of category product views has shifted by at least 3%.
EDITED identifies winning and losing actions across price, availability, and exposure.
For example,
- Did we increase sales by changing the average selling price?
- If we increase the availability of an item, did we increase efficiency?
- If we shift exposure, did we shift views away from below-average performance styles?
Action Impact Analysis Views
You can visualize the Action Impact data in various formats within the Price, Availability, and Exposure tabs.
Quadrant View
Shows how many products benefited and didn’t benefit from the actions. It also communicates the degree of action success or failure via the estimated impact on profit or sales.
Grid View

A chart highlighting outliers regarding positive or negative metric changes.
The Y-axis shows positive profit or demand change in green and negative profit or demand change in red.
The X-axis shows the metric change, such as the product profit/view. The more to the right, the larger the increase, and the more to the left, the bigger the decrease.
